Some amateur chefs are going head-to-head in a chili cook-off, all for a good cause.
St. John's Youth and Family Ministry hosted its fourth annual Chili Cook-off and Bingo Night Sunday afternoon.
For any donation, people could come taste the chili entries and play bingo.
Prizes were awarded for the best chili recipe.
They're raising money to send young adults to the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America's National Youth Gathering.
It's an event this summer in Houston, Texas where about 30,000 young people gather to learn about leadership and fellowship.
"This is learning with other kids from across the country and so they get to hear speakers that they wouldn't normally get to see, they hear bands that they've heard on the radio but they haven't gotten to see in person, it's just a kind of way to fuel their faith," said Lindsay Colwell, St. John's Youth Ministry Coordinator.
Ten children and three adults from St. John's are planning to make the trip to Houston this summer.
