The storm system that has been plaguing our region for several days with clouds, showers, and in some cases, strong thunderstorms is finally making its way through our area today. With the arrival of the system's center today, we're facing the thickest clouds and most persistent rain for our Wednesday. Expect light showers or sprinkles through the morning and then more widespread rain in the afternoon with very little change in temperatures as highs are expected to be in the upper 50s to near 60 locally. The rain will end shortly after midnight tonight with sunshine returning to our skies tomorrow and Friday. Those two days will represent the best period of weather for the next week or so as rain chances will return first thing Saturday morning and will linger in the region through the holiday weekend and then through much of next week as well before our pattern improves.
