UPDATE: We have new information in a crash that knocked out power to some residents in Southwest Rochester.
According to the Olmsted County Sheriff's Office, 31-year-old Jonathan Thomas of Rochester was arrested after the crash just after 10 p.m. Monday. He has since been released from jail.
Thomas was northbound in an SUV on 11th Avenue Southwest when deputies said he crashed into the power pole, taking power from some households in the area.
A deputy said Thomas was taken to the hospital to get checked out before being taken into custody for DUI. A warrant was issued to get alcohol levels for Thomas' blood and urine.
Crews worked to get power restored to affected customers.
PREVIOUS STORY: A little before 10:10 p.m. Monday night, a man driving an SUV crashed along the 4500 block of 11th Avenue SW.
The vehicle knocked down a power pole which also cut power to a handful of customers in the area.
According to responding Olmsted County Sheriff's deputies, the man was taken to a hospital to get checked out before being taken into custody for driving under the influence.
Crews are working to restore power to the affected customers.
