Children from the Rochester Boys and Girls Club got a visit Monday from some international visitors with a special message.
Runners from the Sri Chinmoy Oneness Home Peace Run made a stop at the club as part of their North American torch relay.
The runners are from seven different countries, and they're on a four-month, 11,000 mile journey across the continent.
They make stops along the way at schools and youth groups to promote peace and friendship.
On Monday they ran from Red Wing to Winona, with a stop in Rochester.
"As a team we try to find peace among ourselves and then do all of the practical things," said Arpan DeAngelo, one of the Peace Runners. "We cook, we shop, and clean and all that stuff. But the best part really is running alone with the torch. Sometimes when you're alone with the torch it's very peaceful. And also meeting people, and being inspired, they inspire us as much as we inspire them."
The annual peace run began in 1987.
The runners say they don't promote any political or religious belief, but simply a message of peace and harmony.
