Coming together to promote heart disease awareness, that's what Friday night's first Go Red Gala was about.
Starting when women's heart disease rates were significantly higher than men's this group in Rochester helps to promote and raise money for the American Heart Association.
Fox 47's Erin O'Brien also emcee'd the nights festivities.
According to organizers moving from their normal luncheon to a gala with so many people in attendance shows the importance of an event like this and how much it means to them.
"It's been so fulfilling to see what's changed over the 20 years that I've been doing this. So this is very personal for me, I see patients with heart disease every day, so for me to see an event like this where others are as passionate about the cause is really exciting," said Rekha Mankad, Women's Heart Clinic Director.
Everyone in attendance wore their best red outfit in the event's theme of 'Derby Night' to raise money to help change lives for women, men and kids diagnosed with various forms of heart disease.
