History is being made Saturday for the United States Men's curling team.
After a victory over our neighbors to the north, the three-time Olympic champions of Canada by a score of 5 to 3, Team USA is playing to bring home the gold for the first time ever!
Back to the Olympics, the last time the United States earned an Olympic medal in Men's Curling was back in 2006 when we won Bronze.
Fast forward 12 years and once again the Men's curling team will be coming home with a medal -- but the question is will it be silver or gold?
The team captained by John Shuster, a Chisholm native now living in the Twin Ports.
His teammate is John Landsteiner, is a Mankato native also living in Twin Ports area.
Our Minnesota guys from Team USA will go up against Sweden for the gold medal at 12:30 a.m. central time Saturday.
Curling has taken off here in Rochester just in the past few months, with a curling club formed and now a number of teams playing in the league.
They practice behind The Freight Yard bar on Civic Center Drive Northwest and then celebrate with each other inside the bar.
