A hotline in Iowa that takes reports of Immigration and Customs Enforcement activity is releasing statistics from its first year in operation.
It's called the Iowa ICE Rapid Response Hotline.
A group of volunteers called La Resistencia created it last February.
Now, an organization called the American Friends Service Committee Iowa staffs the hotline.
Among the findings from the past twelve months:
A total of 64 families reported activity such as surveillance, persecution, detention, and deportation by ICE agents.
At least 67 Iowa children had a parent taken by ICE.
Most arrests happened in the early morning when people were headed to work.
The organization plans to continue to offer the hotline service.
