ROCHESTER, Minn. (FOX 47) -

Rochester police are investigating an attempted armed robbery in Northwest Rochester after the victim fought back against his two attackers.

Just before 7 a.m. Tuesday, police say a 40-year-old Mazzepa man was walking south on 13th Avenue North West. During his walk to work, he was approached by two men.

One suspect shoved the victim and swore at him before pulling out a gun and demanding money. The victim stood his ground, and shoved the other assailant. The suspects then walked away, and the man watched them as they headed north before leaving in a four-door car.

The suspects are described as being smaller in build, around 5'8" and weighing about 140 pounds.

Police say one is a black man and was wearing a black jacket with "little buckles" on it, grey pants, a black beanie, and short hair on the sides with about 2-3 inches on the top.

The other, a white or Latino man, was wearing a black jacket, a black stocking-cap, and had peach fuzz on his face with dark hair on his head. They are both estimated to be about 20 years old.

Anyone with information should contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
