The company hosted its annual meeting of stockholders Tuesday night in Austin.
Representatives told a packed house they are looking forward to more growth in 2018.
Hormel leaders say 2017 was the second best year in the company's history.
They say they're set up for future growth as they continue to diversify their products and continue to move into a global market.
Organizational changes and great employees are being credited for the company's success.
Representatives say what's good for Hormel is good for southeast Minnesota.
"And so as the company grows, it provides economic stability to southern Minnesota, especially the people of Austin because we're able to add jobs, we're able to grow the economy. And so there's a lot of things inextricably linked quite frankly. I mean, as Hormel goes, so goes Austin and we understand that role," says Hormel CEO Jim Snee.
Orders of business at the meeting included the election of directors, the ratification of Ernst and Young as the company's accounting firm, and approval of the Hormel Foods Corporation 2018 Incentive Compensation Plan.
Hormel also says it'll be releasing a new Skippy commercial, but aren't releasing details of that until next month.
