The k-cup may be getting some fizz. High-end coffee maker Keurig is buying the makers of Dr. Pepper and Snapple.
The deal would create a beverage giant worth $11-billion in annual sales. The companies represent several major brands including 7-up, Motts and Sunkist.
Shares of Dr. Pepper Snapple soared more than 39-percent before the opening bell.
The acquisition must still be approved by shareholders of Dr. Pepper Snapple Group Inc.
