A little more piece of mind for Austin parents Thursday. That's thanks to additional funding for the Minnesota Child Care Grant Program.
Governor Mark Dayton and the Department of Employment and Economic Development announced $519,000 in additional funding.
The Minnesota Child Care Grant Program is designed to increase the supply of quality child care providers in communities statewide.
The Parenting Resource Center in Austin is one of the organizations that got funding for 2018.
It received $61,000.
The facility estimates a total of 972 new child care slots will be created once all 2017 grant projects are complete.
