Rochester trash pickup problems continue as new year begins
(FOX 47) -
Trashcans are still sitting on the curbs today throughout some streets in Rochester and some residents are taking to social media to say the lack of services from Waste Management...stink.
This comes after Waste Management bought out GarbageMan the first of December.
FOX 47 spoke with Arlen Carey who says services from the trash pickup company have since then deteriorated with missed pickups even though the company had notified him that the job was done.
"Our trash wasn't picked up quite as regularly, our cans were just kinda just sprawled out on the sidewalk. We're faced with a palette of poor choices." Said Carey.
"I think if the city would have stringent rules as to what the expectations are for trash pick up, and they had one contractor, and they could have teeth in those rules, we'd have much better service throughout the community."
Carey says the changes have been parallel to his previous experience as a customer of Waste management.
Around the holidays, there is typically a one-day delay for trash pick up services, but some people say Waste Management has not picked up their garbage in four weeks.
