New Years Eve brings about plenty to celebrate, but sometimes it's hard to include the entire family, especially with young kids.
On Sunday, the ball dropped twice this afternoon at the Minnesota Children's Museum Rochester at its 5th annual New Years Eve Party.
This year the museum had two ball drops, one at noon and another at four due to past years popularity.
The party included drawings for prizes, a live DJ, a photo booth, plus an area where kids could write their wish for 2018 and put it in the wish tunnel.
"We kind of took that opportunity to say that there's a gap in the current services of our community to be able to provide an opportunity for families to come together and connect. That's what we do best here at the children's museum, so we figured it was a great opportunity to put those two strengths together and provide a spot for families to come together and celebrate the new year together," said Becca Stiles-Nogosek, Museum Development Events and Volunteer Manager
Organizers said both New Years Eve parties were sold out in advance and all proceeds from ticket sales go toward the museum's programming and events.
