Freeborn County Sheriff's Office becomes member of "Missing Kids Readiness Program"
ALBERT LEA, Minn. (FOX 47) -
The Freeborn County Sheriff's Office received has taken strides to improve its readiness in the event of a missing child report.
It's now part of a program called the Missing Kids Readiness Program which aims to increase the odds of a successful recovery.
The Sheriff's Office worked with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children organization to update its policies and procedures when responding to calls where a child's life may be at stake.
The Freeborn County Sheriff's Office is now one of just 47 law enforcement agencies across the country, and just the third in Minnesota, to meet all program criteria.
