RCTC's Interim President and Student Body President swap roles

Posted: Updated:
ROCHESTER, Minn. (FOX 47) -

After the success of the President Swap at RCTC last year, the college is turning the tables again Tuesday.

Last school year, Interim President Mary Davenport swapped places with the student president for a day in March.

This time, President Davenport and Student Senate President Sarah Brakebill-Hacke are trading places for the day.

President Davenport went to class and presided over the Student Senate meeting, as well as attended the RCTC Foundation Meeting.

Brakebill-Hacke says spending a day in someone else's shoes gave her a new understanding and appreciation for the work the administration does.

"It's really nice to see the college from a different perspective, and to understand the difficulties that administration have, and the choices they have to make," she said. "Again it goes back to the difficult decisions and how to keep the college running smoothly while creating opportunities for students to thrive."

Brakebill-Hacke conducted a leadership cabinet meeting, had office hours, and attended a faculty meeting.
