An early morning house fire was put out thanks to the quick action of the occupants.
According to the Rochester fire department, a fire outside of a home was reported just after 1:30 a.m. Monday morning.
On arrival to the house at 18-16 23rd and a half street southeast, the fire was nearly out as the house occupants, who all safely got outside the home, used a garden hose to fight the fire.
Once crews were on scene they finished putting out the fire, and removed charred wood and insulation to ensure the fire was completely extinguished.
Crews then ventilated the home in order to remove all fire gasses.
Rochester police and gold cross also responded to the scene. No one was injured, but the fire caused $5000 in damages to house.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
