Rochester woman arrested for second time in two weeks for DUI
BYRON, Minn. (FOX 47) -
A Rochester woman is arrested again for drunk driving less than two weeks after being arrested for the first one.
According to the Olmsted County Sheriff's Office, deputies arrested Laura Jackson, 49, of Rochester, Wednesday afternoon for driving under the influence.
The incident started, when deputies received a report at 1:42 p.m. of an accident where a car had jumped the curb and hit a tree on the 500 block of Byron Avenue North, in Byron. When a deputy arrived, he saw the damaged car by the tree and a different car leaving the scene.
The deputy followed the second car and was able to stop it at the corner of 6th Street Northwest and 1st Avenue Northwest. While talking to the two in the second car, he gets Jackson, who is in the passenger seat, to confess to driving the first car into the tree.
The deputy notes that Jackson is clearly under the influence so she is taken into custody. Back at the jail, Jackson's BAC comes back at .17.
Jackson faces two counts of 2nd Degree DUI and Driving After Revocation. (Jackson had her license taken away on Nov. 4 because of her first DUI on Oct. 28)
