A death investigation is underway in Kenyon.
The Kenyon Police Department received a call just after 7 a.m. Tuesday about a man lying on the ground near the corner of Second Street and Langford Avenue.
Officers and members of the Kenyon First Responders were the first on scene, followed by the Goodhue County Sheriff's office, Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, and the County Medical Examiner.
Authorities found a man deceased on the grass outside of a multi-unit apartment complex. Authorities interviewed residents of the complex to see if there was anything they may have heard or seen. An autopsy will be preformed Wednesday, November 8 in an effort to determine a cause of death.
The name of the man is being withheld until his family is notified and a positive ID is made.
"We are not quite sure of the circumstances of what happened so we are treating this as a suspicious death at this point," said Kenyon Police Chief Lee Sjolander. "We feel there is no danger to the public or anything like that at all."
Authorities are asking that if anyone was in the area between 6:30 a.m. and 7 a.m. Tuesday and may have hear or seen anything, they are encouraged to contact Goodhue County Dispatch at 651-385-3155.
Police say the investigation is on-going.
