A Rochester boy is proving you don't have to be an adult to make a difference and help others.
Landon Wilburn, a nine-year-old 4th grader had a garage sale Thursday at his grandmother's house at 728 11th Ave. NE to raise money for a buddy bench at his school, Jefferson Elementary.
He sold his old clothes, shoes, books, and some refreshments.
His grandma says some people also stopped by to just make donations.
Landon says the buddy bench would sit near the playground at the school and help children find friends to play with.
"It's where if you don't have a buddy you go and sit on it and then if someone else doesn't have a friend they go on and sit on it too, and then you can make buddies," he said. "I hate to see kids not have friends."
Thursday afternoon Landon had made more than $100 in donations.
If the weather holds up tomorrow they'll have the sale again.
