People will be enjoying barbeque while helping a Rochester cause and listening to music this weekend at the 5th annual Cronin Home Fundraiser Blues and BBQ.
"Cronin Home is a non-profit free standing board and lodging facility for 44 residents," said Cronin Home Executive Director, Michael Frisch. "These are folks that would otherwise be homeless. They're struggling with drug addiction, alcoholism, chemical dependency where it has taken everything from their lives. Without this, they would be out on the street."
Right now, the Cronin Home needs a little help, and the 5th annual Blues and BBQ can provide it.
"This is a fundraiser that we use the money for special projects," said Frisch. "This year our special project is we need new air conditioning units for each other rooms. These units have been in the building since we first built in 1997 and we've been maintaining them but they definitely need to be replaced."
The Blues and BBQ event is meant to be fun for the whole family with a silent auction, crafts and of course food and music.
"They'll come in and they'll be able to purchase the ticket that will get them in the door for all you can eat barbeque along with the blues bands," said Frisch. "We're going to be having 5 different bands playing from 4 in the afternoon all the way into the evening."
The Blues and BBQ fundraiser for the Cronin Home is this Saturday, August 5, 2017 from 3pm to 9pm at the Olmsted County Fairgrounds 4-H building.
