The home of the Superlarks is now a little bit bigger. Sunday, the Grand Meadow School District held an open house and dedication ceremony for its new building addition. The project started in September 2015 and opened to students mid-December. The school's superintendent says Grand Meadow's population is growing and the school was running out of space. The over 42-thousand square foot expansion created four new classrooms,a new weight room, a brand new gymnasium, and more. The Legacy Gymnasium can seat about 800 people. It also has a rock climbing wall, a track, and a basketball hoop equipped with technology to analyze a shot. The building now more secure with 21 security cameras, wire mesh security glass in the classrooms, and key fob door access. The project cost about $6.9 million and was funded by the school district, a bond referendum, and donations.
