The body of the Hayfield man killed in a semi truck rollover in Omaha on September 1st is coming home to rest in peace.
To bring him back, it's only fitting that the semi truck driver has a semi convoy, escorting him home.
It was a sea of semis at Eagle Transport on Monday night, as Hayfield man Danny Ryan was taken on his "last ride home".
66-year-old Danny was killed on September 1st in Omaha, Nebraska, after the semi truck he was driving rolled over.
His wife, 61-year-old Debra Ryan, was a passenger.
She had been joining Danny on truck rides for over 25 years.
The Omaha Police Department reported Danny was driving east on I-80 around 5:55 a.m. when he swerved left, over-corrected, and drove off the road.
After going several hundred feet, the semi rolled over and landed on its roof near a ravine.
Danny was pronounced dead on the scene and Debra had to be extricated.
She broke both legs.
Even more heartbreaking is that Debra is currently immobile, and stuck in Omaha with her broken legs.
As of Monday evening, there's still no word on when Danny's funeral is set to be held, or when Debra will be able to come home to Hayfield.
