Hormel foods announced Tuesday that Jeffrey Ettinger will retire from his role as chief executive officer on October 30th.
He will, however, continue to serve as the Hormel Foods chairman of the board.
Ettinger joined Hormel Foods in 1989 and has served many roles during his time.
He served as chairman of the board, president, and CEO from November 2006 to October 2015, when James Snee took over the role of president.
Under Ettinger's leadership, Hormel Foods has grown in acquisitions and product innovation.
He was named as one of the 30 World's Best CEOs by Barron's just this year, and was also named Responsible CEO of the Year by Corporate Responsibility magazine in 2012.
The Board of Directors elected Snee to be the company's next CEO, effective October 31st.
Snee currently serves as president and chief operating officer, and has been in those roles since October of 2015.
He has been with the company since 1989, as well.
