Former Mayo Clinic CEOs gather to celebrate 50 years of change, continuity
ROCHESTER, Minn. (FOX 47) -- 50 years of change and continuity was the theme at the Mayo Clinic Friday afternoon.
Seven out of nine living former and current physician CEOs of Mayo Clinic as well as former Rochester campus CEOs, discussed their leadership of Mayo Health Systems.
The panel included current leader, Dr. John Noseworthy; in addition to doctors Mayberry, Waller, Hattery, Wood, Cortese and Forbes.
Highlighting the concept of continuity, Dr. Noseworthy shared a piece of leadership advice from 95 year-old Dr. Emmerson Ward.
"Your job is to make sure that you never lose sight of the Mayo Clinic values," said Noseworthy. "The quality. The patients have to have that quality, respect and so on. If you don't have the quality, you don't have the Mayo Clinic."
Today's event was part the 150th anniversary celebration of the Mayo Clinic.
