ROCHESTER, Minn. (FOX 47) -- Minnesota Revenue Commissioner Myron Frans visited Rochester Thursday to talk to volunteers and taxpayers about income tax season and the new middle class tax cuts that were signed into law in late March.
Frans said if you have not already filed your taxes now is the time to do it. Both paper and electronic forms have been updated to include tax cuts for those who qualify.
For those that filed their taxes before the tax cuts were signed into law, Frans said don't do anything until you hear from the Minnesota Department of Revenue. They will send returns to those who are eligible. If additional steps are required, such as filing an amended return, the department will contact you.
The deadline to file your income taxes is April 15.
