ROCHESTER, Minn. (FOX 47) -- Big changes are coming soon to a part of U.S. Highway 52 known for being dangerous. But during the summer and fall, motorists will have to merge down to a single lane on the busy expressway while the work is done.
The intersection of U.S. 52 and Goodhue County Road 9 south of Cannon Falls has been the site of numerous fatal and injury accidents over the last several years. Monday evening the public will learn more about construction to help make it safer.
MnDOT has announced plans to build a quadrant intersection there.
The $6.7 million project will be the topic of discussion starting at 6 p.m. Monday at Urland Lutheran Church near Cannon Falls.
Construction and MnDOT crews will answer any questions.
Traffic on 52 will be down to a single lane during the project which should be complete by November.
