LAKE MILLS, Iowa (FOX 47) -- A 21-year-old man is arrested after a 4 1/2 hour standoff in rural Lake Mills, Iowa.
The Winnebago County Sheriff's Office responded to a welfare check Thursday afternoon at a home in the 4500 block of Apple Avenue.
Deputies say as officers approached the house, Davis shot at them. The officers returned fire, took cover and called for back up.
After 4 1/2 hours Davis voluntarily walked out of the house and was taken into custody.
He was taken to Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa in Mason City with self-inflicted wounds from a knife.
Davis is now being held in the Worth County jail on charges of attempted murder.
