Overnight fire damages Mason City bowling alley

MASON CITY, Iowa (FOX 47) -- Fire damaged the Rose Bowl bowling alley in Mason City overnight.

The Mason City Globe Gazette reports the fire damage was contained to a dining room area at the front of the building on South Federal Ave.

No one was hurt in the fire that started about 3:15 this morning. But, fire officials said the below freezing temperatures made it tough for Mason City firefighters.

The fire blocked traffic on Highway 65 in both directions early Wednesday, but reopened by 8 a.m.
