AUSTIN, Minn. (FOX 47) -- The corn harvest is still fully underway and yields are good. But farmers are not smiling about the price they're getting at the elevator.
The big corn crop has created a surplus and compared to a year ago, prices to farmers are down significantly. Consider that one year ago in Minnesota prices farmers were getting for their corn averaged 6.56 a bushel.
This year it's $4.50, down 31 percent from last October.
