Folks flocking to be scared by Nightmare on First Street

FOUNTAIN, Minn. (FOX 47) -- Dozens of visitors came out Tuesday night to the third annual Nightmare on First Street, where people of all ages were spooked by the eery cemetery and even more frightening maze.

Those who dared to go through the haunted house tiptoed through the cryptic barn house maze of over a dozen spooky scenes and came face to face with some ghoulish characters.

However, for the Little family, being scary is no small endeavor.  Together, they spent over 500 hours constructing the entire NIghtmare on First Street set.

Hardly any of the props were bought from the store, but that's not the only thing that distinguishes Nightmare on First Street from other haunted houses.  It started as a fun family project, but has evolved into a way to give back to the community.

"We don't want to just charge admission like we're going to try to make money, but we thought, maybe we could do something good with it," said Regan Little, creator of the haunted set.

The proceeds will go towards the local food shelf and the City of Fountain 150th anniversary celebration in 2019.

The Nightmare on First Street is continuing through this weekend, going from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. until Saturday, November 2.
