Austin police seeking help in vandalism spree

AUSTIN, Minn. (FOX 47) -- Austin police are asking for your help in finding who is responsible for a weekend vandalism spree that damaged about 30 vehicles.

Austin Police Chief Brian Krueger says the vehicles were vandalized Saturday night, most likely after ten p.m. He says officers are still filing damage reports today.

Chief Krueger says the tires were slashed on about 12 vehicles in northeast Austin, and about 4 cars in southwest Austin. He says windshields were smashed on more than a dozen other vehicles in northwest and southwest Austin.

Chief Krueger says a landscape paver was seen thrown from a dark colored 4-door Nissan sedan where some of the cars were damaged.

The car was filled with teens.

If you know anything that could help investigators, you're asked to call Austin police at: 507-437-9400.
