ROCHESTER, Minn. (FOX 47) -- Police have released more details about what lead to a stabbing outside a Rochester bar over the weekend that sent a man to the hospital with a stab wound to his back.
Rochester police say an argument turned into a stabbing early Sunday morning. The incident happened at about 2 a.m. early Sunday, outside of Whiskey Bone's Roadhouse bar, in the 3800 block of North Broadway Avenue in Rochester.
According to police, a fight broke out between two acquaintances inside the crowded bar. Officers say 600 to 800 people were inside the establishment at the time.
The fight then moved outside into the parking lot, where one man stabbed a 22-year-old man in the back. Police say the victim was soaked in blood.
"Rochester police responded and took over the investigation. They determined that one of the individuals was in fact stabbed in the upper back during the course of this fight. He had not been aware of it at the time. He was subsequently transported to Saint Marys for treatment," said Rochester police captain John Sherwin.
Police say they are not sure of the victim's identity, as he had a few different ID's on him. They did say he is not a U.S. citizen.
KTTC NewsCenter reached out to bar owner Todd Powers for comments, but the business was closed Monday.
