ORONOCO, Minn. (FOX 47) -- Early-season icy stretches on roadways may be to blame for two rollover crashes early Wednesday morning north of Rochester.
Authorities say at least one person on Highway-52, just outside Oronoco just after 4 a.m. Wednesday.
The Minnesota State Patrol says the crash happened near the Olmsted County Road 12 exit. A Toyota Tundra was southbound on Highway 52 when it apparently hit an icy patch of road and rolled over.
Authorities say at least one person was taken to the hospital by Gold Cross Ambulance. The car was totaled in the rollover.
Pine Island and Oronoco Fire Departments responded to the scene, along with the Olmsted County Sheriff's office.
The State Patrol says the road was icy at the time. They are continuing to investigate, and will release more information later Wednesday morning.
Meanwhile, authorities say another car rolled over on Highway-63 near 30th Avenue Northeast north of Rochester Wednesday morning.
The Minnesota State Patrol that crash happened at about 6:10 a.m. Wednesday when a 2005 Suzuki XL-7 was southbound on Highway-63 and while attempting to pass vehicles, lost control and rolled over.
According to authorities, Michael Tiedeman, 45, of Lake City, was taken by Gold Cross Ambulance to Saint Marys Hospital in Rochester with non-life threatening injuries.
The Olmsted County Sheriff's office assisted on-scene.
