ROCHESTER, Minn. (FOX 47) -- As IBM scales down operations in Rochester and moves them to Mexico, a lot of people have been wondering what Big Blue will do with the massive complex of buildings on the northwest side of the city. Now we're getting a partial answer -- IBM is leasing some of the empty buildings to other companies.
Charter Communications said it has now finalized leases for two of the massive IBM buildings to house its warehouse functions and Charter Business operations.
The units will move into the two 40,000 square-foot IBM buildings in January. Of Charter's 1,200 employees in Minnesota 800 are in Rochester.
Charter VP Melissa Morris said it's an exciting time for the cable and Internet service provider and a time of growth here in Rochester.
