ST. PAUL, Minn. (FOX 47) -- Strong economic growth in Minnesota means good news for Minnesota schools.
The Minnesota Department of Management and Budget released its quarterly economic update showing the state has collected an additional $463 million above previous revenue forecasts.
The education bill signed into law this session by Gov. Mark Dayton requires that this new revenue be used to speed up the payback of funds borrowed from local school districts by previous legislatures.
