ALBERT LEA, Minn. (FOX 47) -- Wednesday was a very happy day, as Albert Lea's sweetheart-- and star of the 70's TV show 'Happy Days'-- Marion Ross returned to her roots to support her hometown's local theatre.
The Albert Lea native met with Albert Lea Mayor Vern Rassmussen on stage at the Marion Ross Performing Arts Center.
The famed actress is best known for her role as Mrs. Cunningham on "Happy Days."
Ross credits her success in show business to her roots in Minnesota, but admits it was difficult getting rid of her Minnesotan accent.
"The woman said you can't talk that way, you have to speak more forward. I had a real hard R. By the time I got through with her I couldn't talk at all," Ross said Wednesday morning.
Ross will be in Albert Lea Wednesday night for the Albert Lea Community Theatre's opening night of "Happy Days: A New Musical."
