ROCHESTER, Minn. (FOX 47) -- A terrible act of vandalism has tarnished a bench dedicated to late Rochester leader, Denny Hanson.
Police say someone has ripped a giant hole in the design on the seat of the bench.
The bench was commemorated at the end of June during Rochesterfest to honor Hanson's life and his service to the community as Rochester City Council President.
Hanson passed away unexpectedly this time last year.
So far there's no word of any suspects responsible for the vandalism, but police say they're continuing the investigation.
