ROCHESTER, Minn. (FOX 47) -- Officials look to beef up security measures at the Med City Marathon after the Boston attacks.
Race director, Wally Arnold says at marathons and other public events, it's a challenge to increase security measures with the use of metal detectors.
All they can do, he said, is provide security staff and keep a close watch on any suspicious activity.
Arnold added it's unfortunate terrorists take advantage of events that are supposed to be uplifting, exciting and fun for the public.
