Fire damages home in Albert Lea

ALBERT LEA, Minn. (FOX 47) -- A family escapes their burning home near Albert Lea.

It happened at about 10:30 p.m. Thursday.

Fire crews were called to the home of Galen and Sandra Bolinger in the 26000 block of 740th Ave.

Smoke was coming from the roof when they arrived, but the Freeborn County Sheriff's Office says the family got out OK

An investigation is ongoing, but the fire is believed to have been caused by a wood burning chimney that ignited linens stored in an adjacent closet.
