Rochester battles the birds

ROCHESTER, Minn. (FOX 47) - The battle of the crows rages on in downtown Rochester. The U.S. Department of Agriculture was back in Rochester last week, attempting to shoo more of the birds away-- but they keep finding their way back.

Some places downtown are doing better than others. Central Park on First Avenue is clear, and development administrator Doug Knott says other parks are also looking better.

But several buildings on the Mayo campus are still attracting the birds, and they're proving to be more difficult to get rid of than people thought, even with all techniques to remove them.

Knott says they will continue to make efforts to rid the downtown area of crows. In the meantime, they're reaching out to residential associations hoping to get the community more involved in the fight against the crows.
