ROCHESTER, Minn. (FOX 47) -- A Lourdes High School teacher was fired this week and now students are protesting.
Long-time religion teacher Michelle Weedman was removed from her position for reasons the administration will not disclose.
A petition is being passed around asking for signatures to keep Weedman on staff. Some students and parents believe she was let go unfairly.
The school released a letter Monday, asking parents and students to respect their decision, also adding that any student who is involved in a protest or demonstration of any kind will face disciplinary action.
The school was closed Monday and neither the Catholic Schools director nor Principal could be reached for comment.
