
ST. PAUL, Minn. (FOX 47) -- A Rochester man is facing charges after scamming a St. Paul woman.
Curtis Lavell Britton, 33, is charged with two counts of theft by swindle.
Britton is accused of scamming a St. Paul woman out of $17,500 after meeting her on a dating website.
He told the woman his mother was dying of cancer at Mayo Clinic, according to the criminal complaint. Britton said he needed money to take her body back to Trinidad and pay for her funeral.
