DOVER, Minn. (FOX 47) -- The Olmsted County Sheriff's Office has named the man shot and wounded by a deputy on Christmas eve in Dover.
Joshua Patrick Pagel, 27, is facing a charge of felony domestic assault after he allegedly assaulted his grandmother in St. Charles, according to the Olmsted County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies found Pagel hiding under a camper in Dover. Sgt. Mike Morrow and Deputy Hiram Jobes negotiated with Pagel for about 30 minutes. Pagel then came out from under the camper and charged at the deputies. That's when Morrow fired a nonlethal round and struck Pagel, according to the Olmsted County Sheriff's Office. Pagel continued to charge and Sgt. Morrow discharged a second round, striking Pagel.
Pagel was airlifted to Saint Marys Hospital in Rochester where he is in serious but stable condition.
