ROCHESTER, Minn. (FOX 47) -- The Sisters of Saint Francis have always been a full partner in the loving care of the patients at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, and now, they have something new to celebrate -- the gift shop at Saint Marys Hospital has become "Sisters' Crossing."
Sister Generose Gervais was among those on hand for the grand re-opening and re-naming of the famous first floor gift shop. Sister Generose started today's event by blessing the gift shop and cutting the ribbon...officially unveiling the new look. The gift shop was started by the Sisters of Saint Francis and some of them are still volunteering in the store.
The shop will now be known as "Sisters' Crossing" to honor the service and legacy of the Sisters of Saint Francis.
Sisters' Crossing is 100 percent non-profit, all proceeds going to directly benefit the patients and humanitarian work at the hospital.
More than $200-thousand was raised last year alone.
