William ClaytonFREDERIKA, Iowa (FOX 47) -- Authorities have identified the suspects who allegedly robbed a bank and shot and wounded two police officers during a high-speed chase.
The pair was finally arrested in a wooded area in Frederika on Tuesday. The Iowa Department of Public Safety said Jeremiah Mumford, 24, of New Hampton, is charged with six counts of attempted murder and five counts of terrorism.
His alleged accomplice William Clayton, 19, of Osage, is charged with aiding and abetting and five counts of terrorism.
Both men made initial court appearances and are being held in the Bremer County Jail. They are accused of using multiple rifles and handguns to shoot at police who were pursuing them after Tuesday's bank robbery in Maynard.
Sumner Police Chief Dennis Cain is in critical condition with severe wounds to his neck, hand and thumb.
Trooper Mark Domino was shot in the upper right arm and was treated and released.
