ROCHESTER, Minn. (FOX 47) -- Two volunteers from Rochester are helping in the massive response to the damage from superstorm Sandy.
The Rochester chapter of the American Red Cross is sending an emergency response vehicle to New York.
Volunteers plan to pass out meals and will help in any way they can.
Tom Ransenburger and Donald Whited are long-time Rochester residents and have traveled across the country serving with the Red Cross.
"They had the floods in southern Minnesota and I thought I would go ahead and try it out and see how I liked it. I enjoy the people. The work is hard, but that's good, too. I just thoroughly enjoy it," said Whited.
Tom and Donald will be in New York for at least three weeks working with local Red Cross outlets.
You can donate online, by calling 1-800-RED-CROSS, or texting the word REDCROSS to 90999 to make a $10 donation.
