ROCHESTER, Minn. (FOX 47) -- Even though the storm is over 1,000 miles away, it is causing travel woes here and throughout the United States.
GO Rochester Direct has had several cancellations from people trying to get to Rochester through the Minneapolis/St. Paul International Airport.
That's because of more than 10,000 flight cancellations coming out of the northeast where Hurricane Sandy has taken aim.
Many of those cancellations have come from United, American, and Delta Airlines which are all big players at MSP.
One of the differences we see this time is that often for storms we see cancellations or delays for hours," said Kurt Marquardt, general manager of GO Rochester Direct. "This time we are rescheduling two to three days out. Very Disruptive."
Go Rochester Direct is looking to add capacity for later this week to accommodate those still stranded.
