
ALBERT LEA, Minn. (FOX 47) -- A man is seriously hurt after an explosion in the basement of his home on Albert Lea Lake.
The Freeborn County Sheriff's Office says Ronald Rofshus, 48, was mixing components to make an explosive device in his basement at 18115 Pelican Road early Sunday morning.
Rofshus was taken to Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea and later transferred to Hennepin County Medical Center.
Members of the Bloomington Bomb Squad entered the home on Monday. Technicians removed several containers of components to make explosive devices and detonated them outside the home.
No criminal charges have been filed.
The FBI is assisting in the investigation.
