Man sentenced for setting home on fire

MASON CITY, Iowa (FOX 47) -- A Mason City man learns his fate after setting fire to a home with a pet inside.

Bachig Cornelius, 23, has been sentenced to 10 years in prison.

120 days of his sentence are for animal torture.

The arson took place in June when he burned down a house.

Cornelius had left a dog in the burning home and it died from smoke inhalation
