ROCHESTER, Minn. (FOX 47) -- Congressman Tim Walz joined local Democrats to watch the debate at the Wicked Moose in Rochester.
Those gathered at the viewing party had one big question in mind - can the president improve his debate performance?
Rochester democrats say they weren't disappointed.
He's back.
That's what debate watchers at the Wicked Moose in Rochester said they saw in President Obama during the opening of the town hall debate.
Congressman Tim Walz says he joined the excited group of debate watchers because the town hall format allows him to see the democratic process in action.
But he recognizes that this debate is time for the president to get back on his game.
Other debate watchers say they weren't surprised at the presidents performance given the context of the debate.
They say it may have been hard to play the line between president and candidate in the first debate but President Obama is at home taking questions from voters.
